Dragon’s Dogma competition plus new demo

Capcom’s action-RPG Dragon’s Dogma, will be getting a new demo next week. At the moment, it is planned as a Playstation 3 exclusive but I’m sure an Xbox 360 version will come along in the near future.

The demo grants players access to the game’s Prologue, Dragon’s Dogma’s in-depth character customisation screen before heading off on the epic quest to defeat the mighty Hydra and deliver one of its three heads to the castle. Customising a hero/heroine in the demo version would be pointless if you could not transfer them to the full game. Thankfully, this option is available.

“As with the original demo, players will be able to carry their character’s save data into the full main game.”

The demo will be released on Playstation Network August 15th in Europe and August 21st in the US.

In addition to this new demo, a competition is being held by the Pawn Community website, The Gran Soren Times. The competition opens today, August 9th. The challenge is to capture in-game screenshots taken using the photo sharing feature in Dragon’s Dogma and upload them to the site. The screenshots must fall into one of the three different categories: The Fairest Maidens; The Most Dashing Gentlemen, and The Most Unique Myrmidons. Winning entries receive exclusive avatars for PSN or Xbox Live and 18 very lucky grand prize winners each get the honour of their pawns being showcased in the ‘Special Pawn’ area of the Rift.
