Worms for facebook enters beta

Team 17 is bringing its classic turn-based warfare game, Worms, to Facebook. The development has now entered closed beta testing. It should not be too long to an official release, or at least, an open beta programme where everyone can play. The game has already undergone testing in secret by secret people wearing dark clothing, playing only in the shadows and being as quiet as possible – a true feat considering open warfare is usually quite noisy.

This is no ordinary Worms game though as Worms Facebook Producer, James Long describes.

“Unlike traditional titles Worms on Facebook is a living entity. Plans are in place to continually introduce new content and to monitor the gameplay experience to ensure Worms as fun and fresh as possible.”

The closed beta will be ramping up in terms of participants over the next few weeks. If you fancy a shot (pun intended), wriggle your way over to the website at http://apps.facebook.com/playworms/ and register your interest.

Team17 brings Worms to Facebook.

Closed beta version of classic strategy game launched on social media site.

Ossett, Yorkshire, UK – Monday 6th August 2012 – Team 17 Digital Limited is proud to announce the launch of its well-known game, Worms, onto the Facebook social media website.

Worms has already been secretly running on Facebook as part of a “friends and family” beta programme. The team behind the game are now confident that it is ready to be sampled by even greater numbers prior to the game’s launch later this year.

James Long, Worms Facebook Producer, commented “Unlike traditional titles Worms on Facebook is a living entity. Plans are in place to continually introduce new content and to monitor the gameplay experience to ensure Worms as fun and fresh as possible.”

Team17 plans to increase the number of players involved in the closed beta sessions on a daily basis and gamers wishing to get involved are encouraged to visit http://apps.facebook.com/playworms/ to register their interest.
