Spartacus Legends announced
Ubisoft have announced a game based on the hit TV show, Spartacus. Spartacus Legends is a fighting game that will immerse players in the breathtakingly-brutal ancient world seen in the TV series. It is due for release in 2013. Throughout the game, players will experience the life of a gladiator – hopefully, without the un-pleasantness of being treated as a slave! The goal of a gladiator is to achieve glory in the arena. Players who wish to see this goal met, must first hone their combat skills in the ludus – the training ground where feeble slaves are forged into mighty gladiators.
The game allows you to play as the legendary Spartacus, don the mantle of former champion Crixus or create an entirely new gladiator to rip opponents limb from limb. There will be both online and offline modes in addition to world leaderboards.
The actor who plays Spartacus in the series, Liam McIntyre, has been very involved in the game’s development. As well as providing his voice and likeness to Spartacus Legends, he has also acted as a beta tester, providing feedback on the game. Being a gamer himself, Liam knows what he expects from the game – Spartacus Legends should definitely benefit from this extra input.
