This weeks UK games chart

We honestly tell ourselves every year that “Christmas is for the children”. The UK games chart says very differently, with the years biggest RPG sitting pretty; like the star a top Gamedot HQ’s tree.

Bethesda’s Skyrim is officially the UK’s Christmas number one, with Just Dance 3 at #2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 at #3. It makes me smile thinking of all the drunken dancing that is going to occur in many a UK household this festive season. I, like the rest of the country, will be wandering Skyrim in all of it’s more wintery spots having my white Christmas.

It’s not sad if the cool kids are doing it.

Multi Format Top Ten

1. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Bethesda (-)
2. Just Dance 3, Ubisoft (3)
3. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Activision (2)

4. FIFA 12, EA Sports (4)

5. Saints Row: The Third, THQ (8)

6. Battlefield 3, EA Games (6)

7. Assassin’s Creed Revelations, Ubisoft (5)

8. Mario & Sonic London 2012 Olympics, SEGA (11)

9. Need For Speed: The Run, EA Games (13)

10. Professor Layton and the Spectre’s Call, Nintendo (7)

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Well I didn’t see that one coming. I would have put money on COD being the number 1 at Christmas again, which would have been (I think) the fourth year in a row a COD title has topped the festive charts. For it to be “just” third is pretty amazing.

But fair play to Bethesda, they probably deserve it as Skyrim is a fantastic title (for everyone but PS3 users at least!).
