Halo not dead and buried?

In an interview with CVG, Bungie has said that seeing Halo: Reach as a complete full stop on the series is “premature”.

This tiny little sentence is probably enough to keep the hardcore Halo fans wide awake and sweaty for a couple of months.

Currently Halo: Reach is set to be the final game for Bungie in the Halo world, but they did confirm that they would maybe like to one day return to the game.

“You know, it might be premature to say we’ll never ever, ever make a Halo game again. We sort of have a little special place for Halo in our hearts. But for the foreseeable future, this [Halo Reach] is it.”

So will Halo see the light of day in the Bungie studio again? Personally I think yes. But it all depends on how well Halo: Reach does and future projects developed by Bungie.

If they flop then there’s no doubt Bungie will return to a winning formula in my eyes. But having said that, I expect them to develop some fantastic titles over the next few years.

Will we see another Halo on the 360? No. Will we see one on the next Microsoft console. Quite probably yes.
