BAFTA nominations announced
It’s an event that is growing ever more popular and important in the gaming calendar, the British Video Games Awards. And this years ceremony looks like it will be just as big as ever.
The Academy has released the nominations for the GAME British Academy Games Awards and we are now allowed to share this with you.
It’s no surprise that Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Batman: Arkham Asylum are all nominated in the Best Game category, but so is a game that narrowly missed out on the number 1 spot, Assassin’s Creed II.
These games are also nominated in the Action, Artistic Achievement, Gameplay and Original Score categories.
Left 4 Dead 2 has taken 4 nominations itself which again include Best Game, as well as the unsurprising category of Multiplayer.
This years awards also include a category voted on by the public, the GAME Award of 2009. The shortlist has been compiled by a panel and you can vote and help decide the winner over at www.baftagameaward.com.
The ceremony takes place on the 19th March and for the first time will be streamed at www.bafta.org and www.baftagameaward.com.
