The Worst Games Money can buy XBOX 360
Sometimes you wonder how on God’s green earth did someone not speak up during development and say ” Guys, this game is poo”. When it got to testing the quality control guy must have been drunk. Either way here is part one of Gamedot’s series of worst games ever made. In part one we start with the current generation of hardware and look at some of the Xbox 360’s stinkers. For consistancy we have referred to Metacritic to illustrate how bad everyone thought these games were
Number 5
Destroy all Humans – Path of the Furon
Whilst the first game at least had originality gunning for it, Path of the Furon offered more of the same with little ingenuity on top. Technical problems including screen tearing that was so bad you thought it was intentional and frame rate judder that again, you assumed it must have been a special attack triggered by the humans fleeing from your death rays. Many critics argued that after Pandemic gave up development on the franchise ,it was like an injured dog slowly dying a death and no one had the heart to put it out of it’s misery. Thankfully as of now no-one is looking to reboot the series, which in a way is a shame because with the right execution it could be fantastic, instead we are left with bitter memories of a B Movie rip off that never hit the mark.
Number 4
Shellshock 2: Blood Trails
In a masterclass and how to screw up an FPS game, Shellshock 2 would beat all comers. It’s predecessor managed to shift over 900,000 copies back in 2004 on the PC so expectations were justifiably high regarding the sequel. Instead what fans were treated to was a game that had no multiplayer, the single player was riddled with bugs that included enemies spawning directly in front of you. Coupled with the fact the game was so short it put TMNT to shame and the game quickly spiraled out of the charts into the bargain basement bins. The essence of the game was psychological horror to which consumers had to agree with after parting their money for such tripe.
Number 3
Jumper – Griffins Story
“Makes you want to jump off a cliff “, “Perfect in it’s failure” , ” The worst game on any console” Some choice quotes from the critic that summed up Jumper’s reception quite well. The Film did not Jump start Hayden Christensen’s career and the game likewise did no favours for the reputation of movie tie ins. Horrendous controls, a story that no one understood and graphical quality that reminded most of the Nintendo 64 days sealed the games fate.
Number 2
Rogue Warrior
Where do we possibly start here? a sure way of illustrating your games short comings is to rely on the fact you can at least listen to Mickey Rourke shout obscenities at any one interested to listen. That is really the only highlight (and that is if it floats your boat), I f you are not a fan of obscenities shouted by an Hollywood actor for 4 hours straight then you may want to give Rogue Warrior a wide berth. I’m not going to talk about collision detection, graphical quality, plot synopsis or how many games this tries to rip off and failed – Just that you can listen to Mickey F and B his way to historical greatness. Not.
Number 1
Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust
Rancid Turd? Poo? Maybe we could be kind and say the only thing this game disc is good for is a drinks coaster. The franchise’s main draw has always been it’s wit. When it fails dismally there and it’s erotica content would have trouble stirring the loins of a horny teenager on a viagra rush, there is little else that can be said in it’s favour. Slammed by critics and consumers alike with everyone hoping this is the last we ever see of Larry, a character who was a product of bedroom programming in the eighties and arguably should never have survived the recession. Maybe that’s the game feels like you are playing a game from three decades ago.

You guys are idiots probably ps3 fanboys, because a few of those games are original xbox titles and not 360 titles, for example destroy all humans, which by the way was a good game for the time,
its like saying ps3 games are shit because , lets see and not saying the game is crap but crash bandicoot (which is a great game) sucks which todays standards is dated, but on the original psx was great
I shamefully admit to owning rogue warrior, I got drawn in by an FMV and some light news… but least i only paid £15 brand new, though fair enough it deserves a 1/10 only for its halirious end credits rapsong.
dude your wrong rogue warrior is good game as for
obscenities grow up guy
Nice list
Turning Point, Perfect dark Zero,
Another one I got sucked into thinking was good that ended up being utter sh*t was ‘Damnation’ broken graphics, broken gameplay, just terrible overall. Gotta agree about Leisure Suit Larry though, definately would like to have that time back that I wasted after renting that.
If Scott is any sort of fanboy (which he’s not) it’s a 360 fan boy.
Where is Bullet Witch? Where is Vampire Rain?
Don’t forget we picked these games based on their overall metacritic score. These games, in this order, have scored the lowest scores for all 360 games launched. I.e the average score for Leisure Suit Larry was a paltry 25% while Rogue warrior fared little better with 28%
Wow I wasn’t aware path of the furon was an xbox original last i checked the first ans second game were originals and path of the furon was the third which was on 360 and wii. forgot about vampire rain and prey though, prey was decent kinda but vampire rain has to be the worst game ever next to two worlds
@Nogarda
Please tell me you realize that “Destroy All Humans – Path of the Furon” is a 360 game. It came out a little more than a year ago and was actually meant to come to the PS3 but the US version was canceled (Don’t really know why since it was released in Europe for PS3 as well as 360). Every game listed on that list is for 360 (some multiplatform and some exclusive) so I fail to see why you are bickering.
^^
Whoops, I meant that to be towards Phuckyou. Sorry Nogarda.
@ Phuckyou
”You guys are idiots probably ps3 fanboys, because a few of those games are original xbox titles and not 360 titles, for example destroy all humans, which by the way was a good game for the time”
You fail, sir. All of these games are on Xbox 360. He stated that the original Destroy All Humans on Xbox was a good game because it was original, but DAH: path of the furon on XBOX 360 (the one in the list) doesn’t add much to the franchise in terms of next generation gaming, amongst other things. Learn to not be a dumbass!
Excuse me, @phuckyou, but, overlooking your disturbing lack of grammar, you are entirely wrong. I direct you to: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Destroy-All-Humans-Path-Furon/dp/B001C3LCP6/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1265747811&sr=8-3-fkmr0 It WAS an Xbox 360 title. And calling people PS3 fanboys? What are you, 12? Grow up and listen at school.
Two worlds certainly has to go down as one of the worst games I’ve played!
Really, just about every 360 game ever made could be on this list.
Although the one that quickly springs to mind is Halo 3: ODST.
Assuming the above poster is not a 360 fan.
I can’t wait to see what he thinks of your PS3 list then. Assuming it’s the PS3 he loves and not the Wii.
